Although Earth is not the only planet with water, we are the only known planet with oceans of liquid water, so fundamental to life! Join us to celebrate Earth Day!

Earth Day is held every year on April 22. There are numerous ways to get involved. Offer a program! Host an event! Each year has a different theme; check out this year's theme on the Earth Day website!

Get involved in Arts for the Earth education program, developed to teach sustainability and environmental education through classrooms, museums, and community programs:

• To find program ideas for museums and community venues visit http://www.earthday.org/goals-museums-and-art-venues. Consider offering environmental programming, taking measures to promote environmental sustainability within your venue and to reduce your institution's carbon footprint.
• For classroom ideas and lesson plans, visit http://www.earthday.org/incorporating-environment-based-art-schools-and-after-school-programs. Explore how you can increase environmental education opportunities using multi-disciplinary arts-based programming, encourage school and after-school programs to develop Earth Day programs and events, and develop more arts-based environmental curricula.
