Sherre Boothman was born and raised in Texas and has had a life-long love of astronomy and space travel. She taught sciences in public schools for seven years in both middle and high school. Sherre currently serves as a Chandra Resource Agend, doing workshops and seminars on space-based astronomy. Sharing the beautiful materials the Chandra Education and Public Outreach Office produces for teachers is one of Sherre's great professional pleasures. Sherre has a B.A. in history with a minor in biology, and her M.A. in education from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. She also attended Wesley Theological Seminary and served as clergy for the Metropolitan Community Churches for fourteen years, mostly in California. Sherre served for four years as a corporate trainer for Honeywell DMC in a residential energy conservation program in New Jersey before returning to Texas and public school teaching.
