Biography:
Rick teaches technology, robotics and astronomy at Clear Creek Middle School in Buffalo, WY. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming in elementary education and a master’s degree from Colorado College in math and science integration. He is currently pursuing a Ph. D. in science education with an emphasis in astronomy from the University of Wyoming. He has always had an interest in science and technology and uses his enthusiasm for the subjects to get his students excited about the sciences and math.

Rick believes it is imperative that students be given as many opportunities as possible, especially in states like Wyoming, where communities are small and isolated from one another by distance. Working with other teachers, he has been developing online curriculum that can be delivered in a hybrid format that will allow students to pick different topics of study and work at their own pace.

Quote: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
- Howard Thurman
