Biography:
A graduate from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, Michelle Wise Bellard has spent her professional life trying to change the world one student at a time. Her experience has been in the Early Childhood grades, K-3rd. She has taught in Oklahoma and Texas public schools. She has volunteered and substituted in Nevada public and charter schools. Currently she is working as an educational consultant creating and implementing science enrichment programs within her community. Her company Mind Builders, LLC is the result of the enhancement programs she began as afterschool programs. As a child Michelle found a great deal of enjoyment learning and studying about the space program. After the Challenger disaster, in one quick moment her space travel dreams were filled with fear. But when she came home that night and talked it over with her dad, he said he would still go if NASA called right now. That was when she realized NASA and our exploration was bigger than one flight. Michelle has continued to share her love and knowledge of the space program through her work in the schools and volunteer efforts. One of her first teaching jobs was in Galveston, Texas just so that she could be close and volunteer at Johnson Space Center.
