Biography:
Kaci Johnson is the one and only sixth grade teacher at Ansley Public School. She grew up in the school where she now teachers and loves it. She truly treasures teaching and enjoys the kids immensely. Since attending Space Camp for Educators in June of 2009, she has become passionate about introducing students and teachers to the wonders of space flight and exploration. Her school may be located more than two hours from the closest museum and planetarium, but programs such as the Solar System Educators program help close that gap for these rural students.
Kaci is thrilled to have the opportunity to inspire students in all subjects, but particularly the areas of math and science. She tries to bring her experiences to her students using what she has done and technology to develop meaningful and exciting lessons. She believes materials should be shared with other educators and teachers should network with other teachers to plan and implement lessons. Developing the next generation of scientists is a continuous effort and begins with inspiring and educating teachers.
Quote: This nation has tossed its cap over the wall of space, and we have no choice but to follow it.
- John F. Kennedy, November 21, 1963
