Biography:
David Ternent was born in Akron, Ohio but grew up in Stow, where he attended Cayahoga Valley Christian Academy for high school. After graduating in 1987, he attended Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, majoring in secondary education and general science. After teaching in Polk County, Florida for a couple of years, he returned to Stow, Ohio to teach eighth-grade Earth/Space Science at Kimpton Middle School, where he also coaches seventh and eighth-grade basketball. In 2006 and 2007, David won scholarships to attend Space Academy for Educators and the Advanced Academy in Huntsville, Alabama at the US Space and Rocket Center. Since that time, he has extensively used NASA STEM educational materials and resources in his classroom. David lives with his wife and two sons in Jackson Township, Ohio.
