Date: 23 Aug 1989
This picture of Neptune was produced images taken by the Voyager 2 spacecraft in 1989 during the only spacecraft visit so far of the ice giant planet. The images were taken at a range of 4.4 million miles from the planet, 4 days and 20 hours before closest approach.
