ST5 Launch Status Update

(Source: NASA/JPL-Caltech)

The second launch attempt of the Pegasus rocket carrying ST5 is scheduled for no earlier than March 21. The first launch attempt on March 15 was called off after a locking pin failed to retract onboard the Pegasus just prior to the rocket's release from the L-1011 jet. Orbital Sciences Corporation, the rocket's manufacturer, and NASA engineers are currently working to determine and correct the problem.
