Callisto: Valhalla
Date: 5 Nov 1997
This view of Jupiter's moon Callisto features the enormous, multi-ringed feature called Valhalla, which was likely created by an ancient impact.
The images used to create this color view were obtained by NASA's Galileo spacecraft on 5 November 1997 at a range of 68,400 km (42,400 miles) from Callisto.
This image uses the same data as PIA01649, PIA01298, PIA01299 and PIA01400. The image is presented here in color that has been adjusted to more closely approximate how the scene might appear to human eyes.
