1992 QB1

The first Kuiper Belt Object -- 1992 QB1 -- was discovered in 1992 by American astronomers David Jewitt and Janet Luu using the 2.2-m telescope at Mauna Kea in Hawaii. According to the European Southern Observatory, the brightness of 1992 QB1 was about 6,000,000 times fainter than what can be seen with the unaided eye.
