M3 data products are free and available to the science community and general public. M3 data is distributed by the NASA Planetary Data System (PDS) Imaging Node. Below are some helpful tutorials and tools to assist you with M3 data products.
Overview and help with M3 Data
M3 Data Tutorial (PDF, presentation) - Learn how to access M3 data and to search for areas of interest using NASA's PDS tools.
M3 Mission and Data Overview (PDF, presentation) - Provides a brief overview of the M3 instrument and mission as well as an overview of M3 data products including the calibration pipeline process and PDS archive contents for Level 1B and Level 2 products.
Working with M3 Data (PDF, presentation) - Learn how to work with M3 L1B data including conversion of radiance to I/F using commercially-available software.
- Download a sample radiance and I/F data cube (~100 MB) here.
Tools for Accessing M3 Data
ACT-REACT QuickMap - Provides an interactive web interface to M3 data. Developed by Applied Coherent Technology Corporation, the software allows users to examine global mosaics constructed with high-resolution images and previous PDS deliveries. Online tutorial for using ACT-REACT QuickMap is available here: http://pds-imaging.jpl.nasa.gov/documentation/draft_qmap2_doc.pdf
Lunar Orbital Data Explorer (ODE) hosted by the PDS Geosciences Node - The ODE provides search, display, and download tools for the PDS science data archives of lunar-related missions.
Online Data Volumes - Direct access to the M3 online data volumes hosted by the PDS Imaging Node
Planetary Image Atlas hosted by the PDS Imaging Node- The Planetary Image Atlas is a single interface through which you can search the vast amounts of data collected by numerous NASA planetary missions and archived by the Planetary Data System. Note that the primary audience for this interface is members of the Science Community with some previous exposure to NASA Missions and the raw data produced.
NASA's Photojournal - Features M3 images available for download
Miscellaneous Material Related to M3 Data
The Solar Spectrum Resampled to M3 Global-mode wavelengths and Target-mode wavelengths for supplemental use with the M3 PDS Archive is available for download.
