Like most good stories, the saga of solar system exploration begins with misunderstood dreamers. They worked out the mathematics of space travel about a century ago, but only now is the idea a reality. This history focuses on the robotic explorers that extend our vision to places too distant and dangerous for humans to explore. But it is still a very human story.
And even though we've been at it for a little more than four decades now, we're still only at the beginning of the story...
